"Downtown LV is where businesses go to die, please do not be fooled." <-- obviously written by someone who does not own a business downtown.

Every incidence of violence matters in some regard. However, comparing the worldwide, far-reaching implications of 9/11 to an isolated incident isn't appropriate. How about comparing this to the killing of Tupac Shakur on the Strip, and reporting whether or not that had any impact on tourism?

This visitation number, correlated historically with previous years, can economically sustain a thriving metro population of about 1.7 million. It's nice that the visitor numbers have grown while the resident numbers have declined, though we are still out of balance by about 200,000 residents.

The conclusion is based on the projected months of foreclosure inventory available, as delineated in paragraphs three and five. The article offers no conclusions about whether Las Vegas homes are a good investment, only about the expected difficulty in buying a foreclose home here versus other markets.

Also, the article says little about our economic situation, and what it says (far fewer foreclosed homes available) can be seen as positive, not negative.

The switch to a smart meter has resulted in lower usage readings for me. Happy to have it. And, if you are using the internet, you already have given up on the idea of privacy, anyway.

"It's unclear why owner Vestar Development wants the change. "

This is how The District was designed from the start -- as a faux downtown with a "Main Street" running through it. They are likely changing now due to the siphoning of customers by Town Square.

Lady Luck renovations were started under another developer and stalled during the recession. The work in the last five months on the property is a clear indicator that things have changed and are proceeding rapidly.
