i think the name should be changed....it would help cement the brand on a world wide level...las vegas is an international destination and needs a name that easily identifies it...out with the old...in with the new, isnt that what las vegas is all about anyway....i bet 95% of the modernized world population could not tell you the name of the airport in las vegas. i would also bet a large percentage of all las vegas school children do not know either...every airport needs to be named after the city its in...

this is good for the tourist, as it keeps them from getting bored...i do not think vegas would be as much a destination without the shopping. also add in some entertainment, sight seeing and food and now you have a full service destination for a vacation. no better combination anywhere in the world...

clearly this does not reflect the thousands of tourist walking the strip on a daily basis. i generally give this type of survey some margin for error, but this is way off.

seems like some pr for what the tourist industry wishes reflected the average visitor to las vegas.

maybe they just set up a table at the wynn and ask a few questions otherwise there may be a little embleshing of income or spending habits.

unless these people hide in their rooms all day and night i havent seen them. i wouldnt think this profile reflects any more than 25% of the visitors

also the income just doesnt add up with the amount spent. the $275 spent on food AND beverages over a three day time span is a joke.

the only way this is accurate is if the socal man drives here and 1.brings his own booze 2.has seen all the shows 3. is tired of freemont street 4.knows that the house has too big an advantage to gamble too much 5. has seen all the tourist attractions 6. eats real cheap 7.doesnt bring a girlfriend, (as all the above would not apply, since most women would not come with such a cheap guy) 8. at this point why bother coming to las vegas.

i think this this is a marketing report to try to sell las vegas to those who want these type of demographics in order to use las vegas in some way.

maybe 5 good choices on that list....travelocity customers must not like the exciting side of vegas! or must be senior citizens!

taking the sin out of sin city to appeal to the 15% of the populaton who are turned off by sinful image of las vegas, would then negativily impact the 85% of the people who are attracted to that image. no matter what other cities have more actual sin than las vegas they still cannot compete in the overall package that vegas has to offer.

las vegas is an adult disney land...i dont think many people come here just for the sex side of sin, i think most people come here to just be in an environment where they wont be judged for having fun. its a great escape for a few days, then back to reality.

if top companies located in las vegas then educated workers would follow...its hard to have those people already here working in the service industry just waiting for the big companies to arrive.

the education system would snowball positive once an educated workforce starts to be a major force in the economy...educated people generally will make sure they have educated children.

if las vegas wants to expand its economy past service oriented workforce then they are going to have to start the ball rolling by giving some major incentives to companies to get things going. give companies enough reason to locate here and they will...

are you kidding...this is a major attraction not a ferris wheel at a county fair. ever been to the top of the st louis arch, not alone....what about the stratosphere, not alone...statue of liberty, empire state bld.....not alone...in fact name one major attraction where you get to use it all by your self..

i think this idea is pretty good.....cant wait for it to be completed!
