Our Vision
Get Outdoors Nevada envisions a world where everyone has access to, benefits from, and cares for outdoor spaces.
Our Goals
Get Outdoors Nevada is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We provide nature-based learning programs for children, especially those who have limited opportunity to experience the outdoors. Whether planting a native habitat, discovering the mysteries of the desert, or exploring public lands on a field trip, we love inspiring Nevada’s next generation of outdoor adventurers! We provide meaningful volunteer opportunities for individuals, families, and community groups at local parks and trails. From removing trash to planting trees, and even building playgrounds—our volunteers are up for the challenge! We love Nevada’s outdoors and we are especially proud to serve as the official nonprofit partner for the Lake Mead National Recreation Area through our “Love Lake Mead” initiative.
Our Mission
We connect people of all ages and backgrounds to the outdoors by providing opportunities to experience, learn about, and care for our natural and urban
outdoor spaces.
Fundraising Opportunities
As a nonprofit organization, our work at Get Outdoors Nevada is only possible because of our generous volunteers, donors and supporters. Financial contributions, volunteer hours and in-kind donations all support our programs in education, volunteerism for cleanups, and stewardship of public lands. These programs are designed to enhance the quality-of-life in Nevada with an extra focus on supporting underserved and under-represented communities, especially youth. Support from the community allows us to continue our work in outdoor education along with caring for the treasured outdoor places that we all love in Nevada.
There are a variety of ways to support our work, including making a direct one-time or recurring contribution via our website at getoutdoorsnevada.org/support. Many of our supporters make contributions through their workplace giving programs many times with the employer matching their contribution. Other supporters have raised funds through Facebook giving campaigns, in celebration of their birthday, other important life events, or “just because”! We are also pleased to offer the opportunity to wear your support for Get Outdoors Nevada through our online merchandise shop.
Volunteer Opportunities
Get Outdoors Nevada offers many volunteer opportunities at local parks and trails throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Note that we do take a summer hiatus during the warmest months of the year, with our busiest months for events being September through June. Our volunteer opportunities are listed on our website on the upcoming events calendar.
