Our Mission
To discover treatments and a cure for ALS. To serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.
Our Vision
Create a world without ALS.
Our Goals
To help those with ALS and family/caregivers live as full and normal a life as possible. We support individuals with ALS through the loan of equipment and by serving as liaisons, linking individuals to resources and information for all the stages of their ALS journey. Our final goal is to educate and inform the public about ALS and encourage scientific research for the prevention, alleviation, new life extending treatment and eventually a cure.
Fundraising Opportunities

Walk to Defeat ALS, Oct. 22: Friends and family come together for a 1.2 mile walk in honor of those with ALS, those who have passed from ALS, and those that will be diagnosed with ALS in the future. All walkers will enjoy food, family friendly activities, music and community. Join us by sponsoring the event, donating to the event, or starting a team and/or joining a team.
Volunteer Opportunities
There are many opportunities to volunteer at our events or to serve on a committee to help with a fundraising event.
Giving Opportunities
TeamCurtis4aCure Transportation
Program: This program provides resources, such as use of free wheelchair-accessible transportation to use for medical and non-medical trips. It was created by Chris Curtis, a Las Vegas native diagnosed with ALS.
Multidisciplinary Clinic: Monthly clinics bring together a team of health care professionals specially trained to address the needs of individuals living with ALS, allowing them to receive care from each discipline during a single visit. The care team typically includes a neurologist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, respiratory therapist, dietitian, speech language pathologist and an ALS Care Service Coordinator.
Financial Support: As the only nonprofit in the state of Nevada that provides care and support for patients, families and caregivers affected by ALS, financial support is critical to our mission. The estimated cost out-of-pocket for caring for a person with ALS is estimated to be $250,000 annually.
