Describe your business.

Blo Blow Dry Bar is a franchise with more than 95 locations in the U.S., Canada and the Philippines, and I opened the first location in Las Vegas in mid-September. We deliver perfectly styled tresses, as well as makeup services. The space is cool, modern and chic, and allows for our customers to be the shining stars. We also have a team that handles the Blo on the Go services, which bring the experience to the client.

Our motto is: “You’re not cheating on your hairdresser.” No cuts, no color. Guests choose from our signature styles, such as the razor-straight “Executive Sweet” to the runway-inspired “Pillow Talk.” Guests also can bring in a photo for inspiration for an updo or different style.

What sets you apart?

Because we are close to the Strip, but not on the Strip, local ladies and tourists can appreciate the consistency that the Blo brand offers. We’ve also created a special environment where women can relax, have fun and share stories. During evenings and weekends, Blo is a fun place to get the party started with music, signature drinks and cool wall decals, signs and props for fun photo-ops — because if it didn’t happen on social media, it didn’t happen.

The other night, we had a guest who was getting her hair and makeup done for a special night out with her husband. They were going to meet Jennifer Lopez backstage before a concert. She didn’t have her girlfriends with her, so we became her girl squad. By the time she left Blo, she was feeling fierce and looking fabulous.

Tell us about your legal background, and why you changed your career path.

I was a business and intellectual property litigator for more than 20 years. I was always inspired by the passion I saw in the entrepreneurs, entertainers and business leaders I represented. I have three amazing boys and a great husband who are very supportive, but at work and at home, I was surrounded by men. I wanted to do more with and for the strong and wonderful women in my life.

I now get to share in the stories, challenges and joy that women experience every day. So much of the female experience is shared when hair, makeup and bubbly are involved.

What is your most popular menu choice?

“Pillow Talk” is our most requested style because of its sultry tousled look. It’s our version of loose beachy waves which everyone loves. But “Red Carpet” is a close second, especially for someone looking for a little extra polish or glam.

What is your business philosophy?

My philosophy in life and business is to hustle and show gratitude. For me, it means not waiting around for an invitation, but instead creating opportunities for success, working hard and overdelivering. Although I’m incredibly busy with my business and family, I make sure to take the time to celebrate my successes and those of my fellow boss ladies. And I make sure to thank the people who support me every day.
