OUR MISSION
Green Our Planet’s mission is to help conserve, protect, and improve the environment through education, which includes building outdoor and indoor gardens in schools.

OUR GOALS

  • A Green Our Planet indoor or outdoor teaching garden for every school
  • Increase student academic performance
  • Improve student health
  • Increase community engagement
  • Educate the next generation of conservationists
  • FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES
    Sponsor Green Our Planet’s:
STEAM School Garden Program: The Ladybug Ball is more than an event… it’s an experience! The Ladybug Ball features a gourmet dinner, live entertainment, silent & live auctions, and a special VIP after party that doesn’t stop until the break of dawn! Consider becoming an event sponsor, purchasing a table, or donating an auction item.

Annual Green Our Planet School Garden Conference: Nevada is the largest of only seven states that does not have a school for the blind — until now! NBCF recently moved into a previous K-8 private school facility in Henderson and is working to open the first sited peer preschool in August 2019. Support NBCF with a one-time or multi-year gift towards the capital campaign to purchase the new building and/or operational funds to support the new preschool.

Annual School Garden Conference: Where teachers, professionals, administrators, and the community come together for a day of school garden education and horticulture. The conference is open to the public. Teachers can earn up to 2 CUs for attending the conference.

Farmers Markets: Green Our Planet’s Giant Farmers Market is the largest student farmers market in America. This free public market takes place in Las Vegas every fall and spring.

Teacher Training: Green Our Planet trains CCSD teachers to teach the 800 page, Pre-K-5 Garden STEAM curriculum through 15-hour training sessions that take place six times each year. These trainings are approved by the Nevada Board of Education, and teachers earn 1 PDE credit or 5 CUs for participating.
