Bob’s Big Boy is teaming with Terrible Herbst to bring its iconic, California-based hamburger restaurant to Nevada with a location in Indian Springs.
Officials are targeting a November opening in the town located about 45 miles north of Las Vegas. They indicate it could be the first of many projects between the groups.
“We are proud to have partnered with such a strong brand in Terrible Herbst and excited for them join us in expanding the brand not only in Indian Springs, but across Nevada,” Tamer Afr, the Big Boy CEO, said in a statement.
A restaurant official said the chain formerly had locations in Las Vegas, although he wasn’t certain on specifics.
Big Boy, which opened in 1936 in California, is credited with creating the double-decker hamburger. Its Nevada location will be part of casino-gas station combo by Terrible’s.
“All of us at Terrible’s are beyond excited to announce our partnership with the iconic brand, Big Boy,” Matt Osa, executive vice president of operations for Terrible Herbst, said in a statement “The expansion of Big Boy in Southern Nevada, which begins with the Indian Springs location, is going to be a game-changer for this community, and we couldn’t be happier to see this vision come to life.”
