Survey ranks 11 Las Vegas hotels among world’s best

Eleven Las Vegas hotels are ranked among the world’s best, according to an annual survey by U.S. News & World Report.

The publisher evaluated more than 24,000 luxury hotels worldwide, awarding the top 10 percent gold badge honors.

Las Vegas and Los Angeles were tied for second place among U.S. cities on the list, with New York leading the way with 24 gold badge winners. The magazine evaluated 46 hotels in Las Vegas hotels, 231 in New York and 87 in Los Angeles.

Two Las Vegas hotels were judged among the 50 best in the U.S., with the Mandarin Oriental ranking No. 9 and Aria Sky Suites coming in at No. 42.

The other gold badge recipients in Las Vegas were the Cosmopolitan, Encore, Wynn, Skylofts at MGM Grand, Four Seasons, Bellagio, Aria, Palazzo and the Venetian.

The hotels were ranked using a methodology combining hotel industry awards along with expert and guest reviews.
