Holly Walker is an associate attorney at Fisher Phillips.

R. Gardner Jolley and William Urga changed the name of their law firm, moved its offices and launched a website. Brian Holthus and L. Christopher Rose have been added as named partners at the firm, now called Jolley Urga Woodbury Holthus & Rose. The firm has relocated to 330 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 380, Las Vegas. Its new website is juwlaw.com.

Daniel Stewart is a partner at Hutchison & Steffen. He will lead the firm’s election, campaign and political law practice, as well as join the firm’s administrative law practice in representing clients before government agencies, boards and commissions.

Andson, a nonprofit educational organization, honored some of Las Vegas’ leaders in education and financial literacy during their Faces of the Future Breakfast: The Faces of Education award was given to Dr. Christy Beaird, principal at Laura Dearing Elementary School, and Ben Salkowe, founding principal at Equipo Academy. The Faces of the Future award honored students from Andson’s Financial Literacy and Academic Programs. The Faces of Empowerment award honored the Las Vegas Clark County Library District & Foundation.

The Modernist Cuisine Gallery is open at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. It focuses solely on food photography by artist Nathan Myrhvold.

The Shannon West Homeless Youth Center is open at 1650 E. Flamingo Road. All four local governments – Clark County, Henderson, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas – supported the HELP of Southern Nevada project, along with the Engelstad Family Foundation, Bank of America and U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development. Development and construction of the new center was led by Nevada HAND and HAND Construction.

Las Vegas was named a top-ranking city by Governing magazine and the Living Cities collaborative organization through the national Equipt to Innovate survey at the annual Summit on Government Performance & Innovation. In addition to being a Top 10 Performer, the city was named the top-ranking city in the “Broadly Partnered” category. The survey assessed capacity and competence in seven essential elements that define high-performance government and empower innovation. The Broadly Partnered category showcases the use of strategic partnerships with other government agencies, nonprofits, businesses, and individuals to challenge the status quo and spur innovative practices.

The Downtown Vegas Alliance, a nonprofit organization comprised of downtown business owners and stakeholders, opened a permanent office inside the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce, 575 Symphony Park Ave., Las Vegas.

Liberty Mutual Insurance gave the Penta Building Group a Silver Award for Safety Performance for 2016. This award is given to clients who have met significant safety requirements and have earned a rating that is above and beyond industry standards.
