Las Vegas resorts and clubs are hiring for pool season

It may be January, but Las Vegas resorts are now hiring thousands of employees for pool season. Early winter is typically the time the resorts and nightclub companies begin ramping up to host tourists at pools and day clubs. Most, if not all, of these jobs are seasonal.

MGM Resorts: The company is looking to fill more than 1,000 jobs at Aria, Bellagio, Circus Circus, Delano, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, The Mirage, Monte Carlo (soon to be Park MGM), New York-New York, The Signature at MGM Grand and Vdara.

Looking for: Lifeguards, pool guest attendants, receptionists, bartenders, food servers, cocktail servers, cooks, cabana positions, hosts, sales associates, security officers and more.

How: Apply in advance at at the company’s website. Then show up from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center’s South Seas Ballroom. Bring résumés and park in the convention center parking garage off of Las Vegas Boulevard or in the main parking garage. Parking is free with a voucher you’ll get at the event. Interviews will be held on-site, and some applicants will be hired on the spot. MGM Resorts International drug-tests potential candidates.

Caesars Entertainment: Caesars is looking for 300 employees for Caesars Palace, Rio, Harrah’s, The Linq, Flamingo, Bally’s, Paris Las Vegas and Planet Hollywood.

Looking for: Lifeguards, cabana hosts, pool attendants, receptionists and cashiers.

How: Applicants 16 years old or older should go to CaesarsJobs.com. You’ll get an invitation for an interview after completing the application. All interviews will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Caesars Entertainment Employment Center, next to Bally’s.

Wynn Resorts: Wynn held hiring fairs for Encore Beach Club and EBC at Night Jan. 4-5. About 350 people were hired from more than 2,000 perspective candidates, the company said. Of course, some may drop out or leave. You can still apply at apply at wynnjobs.com.

Hakkasan Group: The nightclub company is filling positions at Wet Republic Ultra Pool at MGM Grand and Liquid Pool Lounge at Aria.

Looking for: Model cocktail servers, model beverage runners, model barbacks, security, food runners, cashiers, lifeguards, bar porters and promoters. These are nightclub jobs, so applicants must be 21 years old or older.

How: Interviews will be held at Hakkasan Nightclub at the MGM Grand. The fair for the cocktail servers was held Jan. 6-7. But the company is still holding interviews for the other positions from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 8-12. Interviews will be limited to 250 people a day. To speed up the process, apply first here. All model applicants have to audition wearing swimwear. Headshots and résumés are optional. Drug-testing is part of the process.

Station Casinos: About 100 temporary positions are available for pool season at Red Rock Resort and Green Valley Ranch Resort.

Looking for: Lifeguards, VIP attendants, cabana hosts, bartenders, food sprinters, pool ambassadors and food servers.

How: Going online at here will speed things up. But Station also welcomes walk-ins and has a computer available to help online applications. Prospective employees should bring a résumé and come in swimsuits and sneakers.

Hiring fairs will be held in Rocks Lounge at Red Rock Resort from 1-4 p.m. every Tuesday through Feb. 13. Fairs will be at 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays at Green Valley Ranch Resort Jan. 10- Feb. 21. Candidates are drug-tested.

Hard Rock Hotel: The Rehab Beach Club is hiring for the summer.

Looking for: Promotional models, model servers, model bartenders, model barbacks, model server assistants, model food runners, VIP hosts, promoters, security officers, lifeguards and cashiers.

How: The Rehab “casting call” will be in The Joint from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 15-16 and Feb. 5-6. Those trying for model positions should wear swimsuits and sneakers; those for non-model positions should wear business casual attire.

Tropicana: The resort is also looking for pool season employees.

Looking for: Supervisors, cocktail servers, bartenders, barbacks, pool attendants, food runners, bussers and lifeguards.

How: Come to the Havana Room on Thursday, Jan. 18, and Friday, Feb. 16, according to this schedule:

• 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., cocktail servers

• 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., all other positions

• 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., cocktail servers

Cosmopolitan Las Vegas: The resort is seeking to fill seasonal and permanent positions.

Looking for: Bar porters, beverage servers, food runners, food servers, lifeguards, bartenders, pool hosts, pool operations manager, restaurant hosts and restaurant managers.

How: Apply online here. Then attend the hiring pool party at the Chelsea on Level 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18. Bring a résumé and dress business casual.

The Venetian and the Palazzo: The Las Vegas Sands Corp, which owns the Venetian and the Palazzo, has already held its summer season hiring fairs. They are still trying to fill a few positions using the traditional hiring process. The Sands drug-tests applicants.
